I am always on the hunt for ways to improve the functionality of website and make it more user friendly.
One of the main faults is that the information for each pattern is not normally found in one single place. The newspaper ad provides us with an artist rendition or a black and white photo of the pattern as well as pattern names. Sometimes it may also include the fabric type and information on coordinating pieces. But the main reason for finding the newspaper clippings is to date the pattern. Finding photos of new in package items provides us the fabric type and fabric content. At times there is a package insert that gives us the pattern name. However, some manufacturers didn’t always use them. And seconds or irregular packages almost never had them.
Because the info has to be obtained from multiple sources, research can be very time consuming. Often you will find no photo, blanks or #research on the page as you review the pattern pages. Unless you check back frequently, you have had no way of knowing that I’ve filled in those blanks — UNTIL NOW!
I have added an alert feature to the website. If you’d like to be notified of changes, simply check the “subscribe to this page” box found at the bottom of every pattern page (and a few otherpages as well). You’ll need to confirm your e-mail, but that’s all you have to do. When I make changes to the pages to which you’ve subscribed, you will receive an email notification with the link back to the page. You’ll receive the emails only for your subscription pages so you won’t be bombarded by hundreds of emails. And you can unsubscribe at any time.
I have tested this on my side and it seems to be working, but please let me know if you have any problems.
