  • January 8, 2023 Today would have been Hanae Mori’s 97th birthday. Mrs. Mori was born in Muikaichi, Shimane, Japan. She attended Tokyo Women’s Christian University, followed by dressmaking school. She designed movie costumes, flight attendant uniforms for Japan Air Lines, and the official uniforms for the Japanese Delegation to the Barcelona Olympics. During the 70’s Mrs. Mori designed sheets for Westpoint Pepperell. These designs were sold under the Lady Pepperell label as well as Martex.
