Z Day was created by Tom Zager who wanted to give recognition on the first day of the year to all persons and places whose names begin with the letter Z and who are always listed or thought of last in any alphabetized list. “Z” is pronounced differently depending on where you are in the world. In the US, it’s zee, while in the UK, Canada, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Zambia, and Austrailia, it’s zed.*
